Young people started their own businesses

“Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center is continued to implement “Youth Economic Development Program” funded by BP and its co-ventures in a partnership with Eurasia Partnership Foundation.

Within this project Uluchay provided 15 training session in each selected district. Totally 160 young people participated in these trainings. All these young people gained all needed skills to start-up their own businesses.

Starting from November, representatives of BP, Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Uluchay started to evaluate business-plans and decided to fund 19 ideas of young people. The evaluation process was based on solving of social problems through entrepreneurship and marketing potential of ideas.

Main areas that received funding are: service sector (9), agriculture (5) and ICT (5). Gender balance was also considered within the evaluation and 9 girls received funding to start their own businesses.

Uluchay is continued to provide consulting and mentoring to all start-up businesses to create a sustainable development of generation of young entrepreneurs.

Let us note that Youth Economic Development Program is funded by BP and its co-ventures and implemented by Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Uluchay. The main goal of program is to create opportunities for young people of five regions along the BTC Pipeline to improve their economic and social conditions.
