Signing ceremony of Grant Contract
On 13th of January 2011 at 15:30 pm, the Signing Ceremony of grant contract for “The Project for Construction of the Kindergarten in Kish Village of Sheki Region” hold at the local office of representative of Sheki Ex-com in Kish village.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Shusuke Watanabe, Deputy Chief of the Sheki Ex-com Ms. Zarina Cavadova, and Head of the Educational Department in Sheki Mrs. Sudaber Ismayilova participated at the ceremony.
The grant contracts signed from Japanese side by H.E. Ambassador Mr. Watanabe and Mr. Mayis Safarov, the chairman of “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center.
The project aimed to provide a new kindergarten in Kish village where is no preschool educational establishments at this point. It will be implemented by “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center and total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance is USD 86,269
“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” support projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people. Such projects might be implemented in the field of poverty reduction, social protection, infrastructure, public health and increase of incomes. The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan including this time is 138, and the amount is USD 10,189,769.
The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided for the Republic of Azerbaijan is over $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, cultural field as well as human capacity development.All Right Reserved.
