Youth Civic Awareness Program Phase III

"Uluchay" Social-Economic Innovation Center is continued to implement "Youth Civic Awareness Program" with financial support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

The program consisting of three components (guest speaker sessions & documentary movie days, civic and political trainings in rural areas and young journalist training) will last for 12 (April, 2010 - March, 2011) months. In each component we will also be aiming to balance the gender ratio, for example bridging in male and female students for activities and encouraging more young girls to participate in our young journalist component.

The objectives of program:

1) Educate youth on political, world and civic issues and expand their minds about situations outside of their communities;

2) To boost political participation and civil awareness of youth in rural areas and create a place where they can speak their minds and take active roles in their community.

3) To foster widespread youth interest in politics through journalism, modern information technologies and free press.
